The products are shipped with an unsafe configuration of the integrated CODESYS Runtime environment. The embedded web interface of the MURRELEKTRONIK IMPACT67 Pro PN DIO8 IOL8 transmits login credentials over unencrypted HTTP using a GET request. The device does not offer HTTPS/TLS support, exposing user credentials to passive interception by any attacker on the same network.

Mitigatiesamenvatting

Murrelektronik recommends: * Deactivating the Webserver will prevent any data from being sent unencrypted. More information on how to disable the webserver can be found in the manual. * Deactivating all unused network ports in the unit will prevent data sniffing. * Segmenting the network strictly helps to minimize unauthorized access to network traffic. If the webserver must stay activated, this is recommended to reduce the security breaches impact. * Advise users of the system to not use personal data or standard passwords for the webserver accounts. This helps to prevent personal data leakage.

Getroffen sectoren

Risk evaluation

A vulnerability in the CODESYS Control runtime system's CmpDevice component allows unauthenticated attackers to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) via specially crafted communication requests. The issue is triggered by a NULL pointer dereference and also affects systems when outdated CODESYS clients attempt to log in. Only PLCs based on the CODESYS Runtime Toolkit containing the components CmpDevice, CmpAuditLog, and CmpSessionInformation are impacted. **Update 1.1.0, 01.09.2025:** Updated remediation category - fixed SL runtimes are now available.

Mitigatiesamenvatting

The vulnerability can be mitigated by restricting the allowed login authentication type "CmpUserMgr/UserLogin_AuthenticationType" to "ONLY_ASYMMETRIC". This can be configured either via the Device Security Settings dialog in the CODESYS Development System or directly in the configuration file of the CODESYS Control runtime system (CODESYSControl.cfg) by adding the following setting: [CmpUserMgr] SECURITY.UserLogin_AuthenticationType=ONLY_ASYMMETRIC With this configuration in place, both potential attackers and legacy CODESYS protocol clients (prior to version 3.5.16.0) will be blocked from logging in, thereby preventing execution of the vulnerable code path.

Gekoppelde CVE's

Getroffen sectoren

Risk evaluation

A vulnerability was reported in WIBU-SYSTEMS CodeMeter Runtime. WIBU-SYSTEMS CodeMeter Runtime is part of the installation packages of several Festo products.FluidDraw < 6.2c and CIROS <= 7.0.6 contain a vulnerable version of WIBU-SYSTEMS CodeMeter Runtime.

Mitigatiesamenvatting

FluidDraw P5, FluidDraw P6 Avoid any FluidDraw installation with a FluidDraw installation package below version 6.2c. Updated versions of FluidDraw are available on the Festo website. In case of a FluidDraw installation package with a version below 6.2c, do not use the WIBU CodeMeter package, that is part of the FluidDraw installation package. Skip the CodeMeter installation step during the FluidDraw installation and instead use a current CodeMeter version from the WIBU website and install that separately. In case of an already installed vulnerable CodeMeter version, update all of these WIBU CodeMeter installations with the current version of WIBU CodeMeter. Please refer to the WIBU CodeMeter documentation and website for further details and mitigations on usage of WIBU CodeMeter Runtime before 7.30a. CIROS For future installations, ensure you're using a CIROS installer downloaded from https://ip.festo-didactic.com/ Infoportal/CIROS/EN/Download.html after September 15, 2022. For existing installations, update the WIBU CodeMeter Runtime separately with at least version 7.30a downloaded from the WIBU Systems website. Please refer to the WIBU CodeMeter documentation and website for further details and mitigations on usage of WIBU CodeMeter Runtime before 7.30a. MES PC If your copy of MES4 came preinstalled on a PC shipped before December 2022, you'll need to make sure this PC has at least CodeMeter Runtime 7.30a installed. If necessary, download the update from the WIBU Systems website. Additional to the above: Festo strongly recommends to restrict unprivileged access to machines running Festo software and to minimize and protect network access to connected devices with state of the art techniques and processes. For a secure operation follow the recommendations in the product manuals.

The vulnerability in the Ethernet switch circuit is caused by a PullUp resistor at the reset input, leading to premature activation and undefined operation. Switching to a PullDown resistor keeps the switch in reset. This issue affects the CC100, the Touch Panels 600 and the Edge Controller.

Mitigatiesamenvatting

To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to utilize a newer hardware revision equipped with Firmware 04.08.05 (FW30). This firmware version is designed to resolve the issue by properly managing the switch activation and configuration process on the revised hardware. It is important to note that older firmware versions will not resolve the problem on the new hardware revision, and therefore upgrading both the hardware and firmware is necessary for an effective remediation.

Beckhoff's TwinCAT 3 Engineering software is intented to craft automation projects consisting of a set of files which are stored locally as files underneath an individual folder or in a packed file. The TwinCAT 3 Engineering stores user settings and preferences among the non packed local files which are relevant to continue former work on the project conventienly. TwinCAT 3 Engineering stores such settings in files which are called "Solution User Options (.suo) File". When such settings are manipulated or crafted by an adversary in a specific way then TwinCAT 3 Engineering executes arbitrary commands as determined by these settings when the user uses TwinCAT 3 Engineering to open the project. These arbitrary commands are executed in the user context. Please note that solution user option files should not be checked in to source code control. This is also a best practice when working with source code projects and solutions. For example, see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/extensibility/internals/solution-user-options-dot-suo-file and https://infosys.beckhoff.com/content/1033/tc3_sourcecontrol/14604066827.html. The vulnerability is similar to older vulnerabilities that were addressed in the CODESYS Development System V3 product from CODESYS GmbH with CVE-2021-21864, CVE-2021-21865, CVE-2021-21866, CVE-2021-21867, CVE-2021-21868, CVE-2021-21869, and the associated Advisory 2021-13 from CODESYS GmbH.

Mitigatiesamenvatting

Please update to a recent version of the affected product and uninstall older versions of TwinCAT 3 Engineering. Mitigatiesamenvatting

PHOENIX CONTACT strongly recommends affected users to upgrade to CodeMeter V8.30a, which fixes these vulnerabilities. WIBU-SYSTEMS has already published this update for CodeMeter on their homepage. Since this current version of CodeMeter V8.30a has not yet been incorporated into Phoenix Contact products, we strongly recommend to download and install the current CodeMeter version directly from the WIBU-SYSTEMS homepage. Additional Recommendations: Regularly check the product's official webpage for updated release versions that support CodeMeter V8.30a. Update the Activation Wizard to version 1.8 as soon as it becomes available on the product's download page.

Risk evaluation

A design flaw in the file system management exposes internal system partitions - intended to be hidden - during brief moments when they are mounted by the firmware. These partitions contain sensitive data such as firmware and certificates. Although access to the file system is mediated by a Nucleus layer that supports permission control, these permissions are currently not enforced. As a result, services like FTP/SFTP may inadvertently gain access to critical internal resources, increasing the risk of unauthorized access or data leakage.

Update to Firmware version 13.
